1). Please have
the subject of the silhouette stand (and not sit) against a light
colored wall in left or right profile position. 2). When you take the picture, make sure that the camera is at the subject's eye level. Not above or below. 3). Please have the subject look as natural and as relaxed as possible (they should not be smiling with an open mouth or frowning). Though it is best to have the subject wear their usual hairstyle, if they have hair past their shoulders, it's better to pull the hair up into a bun or ponytail so that the neck and shoulders don't look "blocky." 4). Please make sure that you set your digital camera to the highest quality setting. This means that the photo resolution is at least 100 DPI and that the photo measures at least 4" x 6" in a JPEG or TIFF format. Anything smaller than this will be too blurry to work with. Please send at least 3 photos in case one is not viable. 6). For a full or half body silhouette, the subject(s) should be positioned exactly how you want them to appear in the silhouette. Make sure that the subject's entire body is in the photo because it is not possible to add hands or feet that are not in the photo. 7). Email photos to Mary@gibsonlanestudio.com. |
